I recently completed the steps to get certified with Stampin’ Up!’s My Digital Studio software. We were required to create a card in MDS and have it printed through Stampin’ Up!’s official printer. Here’s the actual card. It arrived within a couple of days of uploading it, the quality was very nice, and it was pre-scored. It also came with a nice envelope.
The great thing about using Stampin’ Up!’s Professional Printer for your digital projects is that the printers are calibrated to match our colors exactly. I don’t know about you, but I’ve sent things to my home printer, or even had projects printed online, only to find that my colors were not quite as I expected.
Besides being easy to use and having lots of elements, MDS allows you to create hybrid projects. One of my favorite features of the software is that all elements (stamp images, embellishments, etc.) are brought in true to size when you add them to your project (though you can certainly enlarge them). So though my designer button & photo corner punch are 2-D on this card, I could easily adhere the real items to my card over the digital images and make it a hybrid. And even if you’re a traditional papercrafter, you can use MDS to “sketch” out your project in advance, knowing exactly how your card or scrapbook page will look and whether certain embellishments will fit, then create the page in real life. It’s a true time- and scrap-saver!
