Jetski with Joy

Last year while jetskiing on the local lake, Brian took this photo of him and Mia. It's the only shot I have of them together on the jetski, which is a shame because it's their favorite thing to do together. There's something about the water, wind, and waves!

Since I only had one photo, I knew it would fit nicely on a 6x6 page. I used various-size circle punches to creat the "wave" effect on 2 layers of bordering blue cardstock and sponged night of navy ink on the edges to make it stand out. I also added my journaling near the top of the waves using bordering blue ink as I wanted my words to blend in, not stand out starkly on the page. Though it's hard to see, I also added thin stitch lines around the sides and top of my page using a night of navy marker.

The amazing thing about this page is that I actually used Glorious Green cardstock {which happens to be my least favorite of all our colors}. In spite of this, I really like the page. See what can happen when you broaden your horizons?!! I challenge you to create a card or scrapbook page using your least favorite color of cardstock. If you want to play along, add a comment to this post and link to your creation (which can be posted either to your blog or to the gallery on SplitCoastStampers) by July 17th! I'll have Mia pick her top 2 favorites and then I'll post them here on my blog.

Stamp sets: fundamental phrases, ticker tape alphabet
Inks: night of navy, bordering blue, glorious green
Cardstock: night of navy, bordering blue, glorious green, whisper white
Embellishments: silver brad
Tools: various circle punches, sponge

What a great photo! I love the look on Mia's face. And a great challenge too! I'll have to figure out what my least favorite color is. It might be Glorious Green too...I hardly ever use it except at Christmas. Yo Yo Yellow might be a contender too...it's just TOO bright.
